Hang on to your hats........... AGAIN!!!!!

Well, much to our surprise we are off again. Back to Arizona we go. (I know you all just gasped with disbelief, but it is true.) Matt got a promotion to be a RVP (regional vice president), bad news is, it is based out of Phoenix. Lots of mixed emotions, but this is too good of an opportunity for Matt to say no to. Strangely we feel really good about taking this job and yet we REALLY don't want to leave Utah and all that we have here. But in all reality Matt is 32 and still has 30 more years in his working career, with that kind of time frame, I am sure we will find our way back to Utah again (I hope so). We figured while the kids are still young, we should get all this moving out of our system. So the big question is......Can we still use our old Arizona Drivers License, since the expiration date isn't until 2043. I guess it pretty much voided out when the Utah Drivers License Division hole punched through the middle of it. Dangit!!!! Well that is our big news! Thanks for loving and supporting all of our craziness.

Better Late than Never

I don't know how many post I have titled Better Late than Never. Oh well, here is a short synopsis of our Easter events. We were on our way to Matt's work for their Easter Egg Hunt, when I turned around and saw the kids drinking their chocolate milk with their buckets on their heads. Soooo, I had to snap a picture. The kids had a great time hunting for the Easter Eggs. Elena, loved the Easter Bunny and kept wanting to give him hugs. You can see on her face her happiness for that bunny. One of our friends was inside the bunny, otherwise I think I would be a little creeped out. After the Easter Egg Hunt the kids plopped themselves down on the floor and started checking out what they got. I know Mr. germ-a-phobe himself (aka Matt) is going to freek when he sees this picture of his kids on the ground like this, but I thought it was a cute picture! Oh well, it is what it is. We also had fun dyeing Easter Eggs and had no major casualties aside from a few eggs getting cracked as they were lowered/dropped into the die. And of coarse we made the annual Bunny Cakes. We also had a fun Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma and Grandpa's, but my camera was making all my pictures blurry. It was a great Easter Weekend, I would have that weekend over and over again. Conference, Easter and Spring Break....Ahhh Love IT!!!!

...Shoot, "The Messy Counter" made it into my blog AGAIN!!!!! note to self....refrain from taking pictures that may showcase "the messy counter".

Easter Cookies

I love sugar cookies, so any excuse I get to make them, I take it!!! My newest thing is not just plain old sugar cookies, but sugar cookies on a stick. Everything is better on a stick right? I decided I would frost the ones on a stick and then let the kids do the others, with out me trying to help or influence them to frost them to my liking. Both kids were so dedicated in there own way as far as frosting goes. Elena, just couldn't get enough frosting in her mouth. She was constantly licking and licking and licking. I could hardly get a picture with out her licking her knee or the counter or the knife or the cookie. Cody, wanted to have a taste of all the colors of frosting, to see which one he liked the best. Funny thing...he liked them all the same. Both kids did a great job frosting. The Easter Bunny was a smart little bunny and used some of the cookies on a stick as a basket filler.

Saint George

We took a quick trip to Saint George this past week. Matt had the Utah Health Care Convention there, so we decided once again to make a little family trip out of it. Things started off a little rocky, as the night before, I ate the other half of Matt's $20.00 burrito that he brought home for me from his trip to Tucson....enough said!!!!! But by Tuesday, I was much better and we went out shopping and bought some fun games to play in our room. The kids and I also went swimming, which was SO much fun and yet not fun. Elena insisted that she could swim and for me to let go of her. She fought me and fought me. When trying to jump into the pool she would SCREAM.....don't catch me. I tried to explain that if I let you go, you WILL sink to the bottom and choke! I said to her fine....I will count to three and then I will let you go. As I counted, Cody was FREAKING out....Mom don't do it, don't let her go!!! Elena, just couldn't be more happy that I was actually going to let her swim on her own. So as I got to 3 I let her go and down she went. And of coarse I grabbed her and brought her back up, thinking that ought to make her content with me holding her. But it didn't and we repeated this scenario several times, never really achieving anything, rather then getting Elena used to going under the water. If Matt was there, I am sure he would have just let her dive in and swim, but Matt is also life guard certified, and I....well I never did pass Advanced Beginners at the Chytraus's Swim School....so that is the equivalent of.....NOT GOOD!!!!!! We swam for about and hour and a half and just as we got out, the wind picked up and it was really COLD. I brought this huge blanket from the car out to the pool with us....I think I was going on pure inspiration, because why else would I bring a big blanket swimming? Thank goodness for that inspiration or craziness or what ever it was that made me bring it, because it very well could be considered a lifesaver! The kids were FREAKING OUT!!!! Elena just wanted to run away and jump back in the pool and they were both freezing and windblown. I threw the blanket over the top of both of them, and hurried to chase down the swim noodles and flip flops that were blowing away. The blanket was a huge help as it kept them contained and helped muffle their screaming while I dried off and gathered our things. I forgot to bring my camera to the pool.... So I had the kids reenact their parts in the blanket scene. Anyways we had a great trip.

a couple of movies of good old hotel fun!
