Cody's Late Night Video Game Birthday Party

Cody went right on a head and turned eight on August 11th. There was no other choice but to except the fact and to Celebrate!!!! I knew his birthday would be a busy day with being baptized and with the company we had in town, so we decided to do his birthday party on Friday night.  I have been seeing this gaming truck thing become quite popular for boys and birthday parties etc.  But I took one look at the price and decided that was not even close to being in the budget.  I decided to make my own gaming truck inside our home. I got one of those dance lights that spin and look all cool (it worked a lot better than the video shows it) and lots of glow sticks for them to connect and put all over them. I also found these cute Wii remote candy dispensers. The boys thought they were sooo cool!!!  We set the Xbox up in the living room and the Wii in the family room.  It turned out so great.  We had 8 boys there so no one had to share, they could play all together. We had pizza and nachos and cupcakes and all that good old stuff that boys like to eat.  We decided to eat, then open presents and then play the games...because if these boys were anything like Cody....once he gets the game on, the world, presents and food all seem to disappear.  And boy were we right, it was everything short of a miracle to get those boys to stop and come eat a cupcake.  I opted for the Walmart Cupcakes again instead of making a cake. I just didn't want the mess the stress and to take the time away from being able to enjoy our company  and Walmart had Batman rings to go along with the video game theme.  I kind of felt guilty just sitting around watching the boys play video games....it was just too easy.  If this was my birthday party, I would have been really bored....but it wasn't, it was Cody's birthday party and he was in HEAVEN and LOVING EVERY SINGLE MINUTE OF IT ALL!!!!!! It was a great night with a great group of boys!!! Sorry the pictures are so dark, I am just not that talented to take a good picture in the dark.
