Cody's Baptism Day!

So the big day that we have anticipated for years now has come and gone.  We were on the fence for along time, as we were trying to decide if we should baptize Cody in Utah, so all our family could be there or here in Arizona.  Well, I guess our Bishop and Stake President helped make that decision as they...well.. to put it nicely..."strongly recommend/not really an option" has to be baptized in our home ward.  But we all made peace with it, and it turned out to be a wonderful day!!!  One of the many cool things about Cody's Baptism day is that he got to be Baptized right on his birthday.  Grandma and Grandpa were in town for a visit the whole week before and then here throughout the weekend.  Cody's Birthmom Sandi and her mom (birth grandma) came in from Utah too.  So we had a full house.  He was so excited and yet pretty calm about the whole thing. When he was baptized his little foot wanted to pop out, but Cody did a great job and keeping it in the water. One thing Cody remembers was how warm the water was....more on the verge of HOT!!!!! (that is just how the cold water comes out of the tap in Mesa in the middle of August.) When he was being confirmed, I had the perfect view of him.  At one point Cody and I both opened our eyes and smiled at each other.  And then my favorite part was after he was confirmed, he stood up and gave a nice long stretch.  It was hilarious and such a Cody thing. I wish I would have gotten a picture of everyone who came, but I didn't...dang it!!!  But here is a neat picture of the crowd that we had staying with us. It was wonderful to have Sandi and her mom with us on such a special day.  A day that is especially tender as we think back to what was taking place 8 years ago.  As a mother it is such a special thing to witness my little boy, taken by the hand of his loving dad and baptized, just like Jesus was, and then confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and given the gift of the Holy Ghost to be his constant companion.  This little boy of ours is sure turning into a fine young man.  We are so proud and so honored to have him as our son!!!
