From Drab to Dynamite

Lets face it, the house is brown, the ground is brown, it is all just brown. This isn't even the brown that is in right now.....it is some other drab, boring brown. Our plan for our front yard was to check out the couch cushions for any loose change, and try and scrounge up any extra money we can find to buy us a pile of rocks and a few plants and hope the HOA just says...Great Job we accept your front yard. We had a dead line of 60 days, (we bought our house on June 30th but didn't move until July 20th) but I was able to get and extenstion of October 1st. These HOAs are going to be the death of me. Matt thinks he should just be the president so he can approve what ever he wants. I say...Matt calm down and just let me deal with. Any ways, everyday we get at least one landscaping business card or flyer, but the other day it was a knock at our door. And there stood Kanny (I like to refer to him as Handy Kanny (ha ha I am so funny)). He said he wanted to draw up a plan for our front yard and asked for our plot plan. I gave him one and he said he would be back the next night to propose his design to us. Well the next night we were succored into his plan. And three days later whala....Dynamite!! Everything I wanted, he did it. Pavers, dry river bed, cactus, tropical and some grass. It is beautiful....my favorite little guy is this little round cacti (gosh, and I am a poet too (ok it is midnight give me a brake) so cute don't you think and yes he is very poky. I am so glad the font yard is done!!!!! The only bad news of it all...there was no money in the couch cushions just a rasinet and some pretzels. Ok, so who wants to donate to the Matt and Lori Fund???
