Helpers

I have been doing some sole searching in the past few months. Trying to come up with somethings to help me be a better wife and mother. I have a feeling this is not something I am just going to figure out, but something that will be a continuum throughout the rest of my life. One thing I have decided, is that my kids need some jobs. Cody used to vacuum both sets of stairs in the house in Kaysville, but we had Central vac (which I miss dearly) which made it soooo easy and fun for him to do. Now, I have a big huge heavy awkward vacuum that I heave down each step. It is a hard job for me and definitely impossible for a six year old. Matt has been out of town for most of the weekdays this past month, so I have had some time to be with the kids and really work with them on some jobs. One that is going really well is that of dinner clean up and unloading the dishwasher. Elena is in charge of putting away all things Tupperware and Cody is in charge of putting all the sippy cup and kid dishes away. Together they both work on the silverware. The other day I had to stop and take a picture of the silverware drawer. I love how they put the mixing beaters in the tall fork spot. It's these little things that make life great!! I am SOOO lucky to have such good little helpers.

  2. WE struggle with the whole job thing to. I feel I have so many balls up in the air that I ended up dropping so many and we accomplish nothing. I think it's great that they are trying so hard. Maybe you should start putting the beaters there?

  3. They are doing a great job and are thinking, aren't they? You're a good mom Lori and you have wonderful children who we miss terribly!
