Christmas Eve

Here we are again, celebrating Christmas Eve on our own. Although we really miss our family, we actually quite enjoy our Christmas Eve festivities as our own little family. We do a lot of our own childhood traditions with our kids. We start out by making sure the house is all in order and everything is ready for the next few days. We have the big food spread which basically consisted of Bean Dip and Junk Food. Normally we have meat balls, and cheese bread, and little polskas and lots of other things, but this year we made it a little more simple. But we still had a ton of Junk... to put it into perspective, just look at my waist line, it has increased immensely in the past month and a half. CRAAAPY!!! Oh well, the story of my life....we gain it and we lose it, then we gain it again. So after we eat our self silly, we start with some of our activities. We have the Grab Box (present all wrapped up with presents inside) Then we play Christmas Bingo. And as always, we could have ended Christmas there and the kids would have been totally happy getting just those presents to open. Well that is not totally true, but they sure had fun playing with their new presents. We also rein acted the nativity. Oh ya, and opened their gifts from their cousins. I love all the Christmas Lights on and the music and...Ahhhh the excitement, it is just sooo magical. The last thing we do is leave some cookies and milk for Santa and read The Night Before Christmas. Elena was too tired to stay up, so she got tucked into her bed a little early.

  3. I love Christmas alone with just my family. Like you, family is nice to have around but sometimes being with your own little ones in your own little world is the best.
